About Our Spectacular Lake
The focal point of our incomparable residential community is certainly our lake – also named Lake Arrowhead. Completed in 1974, Lake Arrowhead is one the largest privately owned man-made lakes in Georgia. Offering 540-acres of crystalline waters and boasting depths up to over 80 feet, this stream-fed reservoir always remains at a constant level and is also touted as one of the cleanest lakes in the State of Georgia.
Besides being beautiful to observe from many viewpoints, the lake offers vast opportunities for water recreation for
the fortunate residents of the Lake Arrowhead community. Pontoon boating, canoeing, kayaking, row boating, and
small craft sailing are all popular ways to get around the lake and enjoy lake-life to the fullest. Some residents enjoy getting exercise while water biking – a unique individual pontoon float that allows one to pedal while upright across the water. Recreational swimming in the lake is invigorating and popular.
Lake Arrowhead’s geographical orientation is almost exactly due North and South. This makes for amazing sunrises
for the fortunate residents living along scenic mountain ridges to the west and also majestic sunsets for those living
high atop the east side of the lake. Lake Arrowhead is approximately 2.2 miles in length and is divided into two unique
parts – the big basin which is the widest part of the lake running to the southern most edge at the dam. The north part
of the lake includes The Narrows, where the lake divides into a number of scenic individual coves. A small picturesque
island at the north end of the lake is a landmark to boaters and a focal point for many lovely homes which dot the
northern Lake Arrowhead shore. In all, Lake Arrowhead boasts nearly 11 miles of magnificent shoreline.
Since Lake Arrowhead’s topography is graced with a series of graceful mountain ridges, the lake itself can be viewed from many vantage points and distances. Many new homes and homesites boast spectacular views of the lake and many more will be available as future community development progresses. |
