Highlands Golf Course

The Highlands Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course built into the North Georgia mountain landscape, wrapped around Lake Arrowhead’s 540-acre stream-fed lake. Since opening in 2008, it has become one of the most recognized courses in the region, named Best Golf Course in Cherokee County by Cherokee Life Magazine.

The course was designed by Atlanta-based architect DJ DeVictor, whose credits include golf course projects throughout the United States as well as in the US Virgin Islands, Mexico, and Turkey, developed in collaboration with PGA professionals including Jack Nicklaus, Larry Nelson, Davis Love III, Rees Jones, and Fred Couples. The Highlands Course plays to a par of 72 and stretches to nearly 7,000 yards from the back tees, with four additional tee sets so golfers of every skill level can find the right challenge.

Beyond the 18 holes, golfers have access to a full driving range and both chipping and putting greens for practice before a round. The course is open for daily play, and Lake Arrowhead property owners have the option to become golf members of Lake Arrowhead Yacht and Country Club, which includes benefits like advance tee time reservations and unlimited driving range access.

The Highlands Course also regularly hosts golf tournaments, corporate outings, and charity events, supported by an events team that handles everything from cart signage to catering. Ready to plan your visit? Explore tee times, rates, and membership details below.
